David Edwards (British b1940) was born in Manchester and continues to live there. After working in advertising, he became a therapist in a psychiatric hospital. Throughout his life he has painted the places and people of the North West, frequently working outdoors. This particular example displays Edwards at his best with strong areas of colour within a neutral framework, and a busy composition located on the coast near Conway. He has exhibited in London, and also local galleries and museums.
