James Longueville (British b 1942) was born near Chester. Following a career in journalism, he began painting full time in 1972 focusing on his local Cheshire landscape. He now travels widely in Europe, producing work in both oil and watercolour. This oil on board is a good example of his painting, dealing with a well known Cheshire landmark, in a loose and colourful manner.
